Back in September, Derek Hough won an Emmy Award for his outstanding choreography on Dancing With the Stars. Almost four months later, Hough has been awarded once again for his outstanding choreography on the competition series.
Last night, Hough won the World Choreography Award for television reality show/competition. Hough received a nomination along with World of Dance‘s Shannon Mather and Tawnya Kuzia (nominated separately but for the same show); Saturday Night Live/Justin Bieber’s Nick Demoura and Johnny Erasme; and Strictly Come Dancing‘s Jason Gilkison.
Hough won for his unforgettable Paso Doble performance with Hayley Erbert on Season 29 of the long-running series.
The World Choreography Awards is a prestigious global award show that celebrates creativity, diversity, innovation, and artistic excellence in media choreography. Their awards include media choreography in feature films, television episodic, television live performance, commercials, music video, concert performance (tours), concert dance performance, and digital format. This honor is Hough’s second World Choreography Award to date. He accepted his first award in 2015 for his television live performance of “MKTO’s Classic” (with Christopher Scott).

Derek Hough’s Las Vegas Residency Comes to an End
Also on Monday, Hough shared on his Instagram that his Las Vegas residency is nearing the end. This dancer began his Las Vegas Residency in September 2021 and will conclude the series on December 19. When sharing that his time in Las Vegas is coming to an end, Hough shared how thankful he is for the time he’s spent at The Venetian Resort.
“Many people told me that Vegas is a tough place to break in to, especially in a time like this with so much uncertainty. So I went into it with faith, determination and belief that if we put on a great show that people would show up and boy did you all show up,” Hough wrote. “Sold out shows and Amazing energy every night!!! I am so thankful to you all and so thankful to my amazing cast and crew who put there all into every single show. I love you all so much!”
For the past few months, he has been performing at The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas. He took a brief hiatus when he tested positive for Covid-19, and quickly rescheduled. His last five performances are from Dec 15 to the 19. Ticket prices range from $35 to $82 for this event.
