If you were to tell any of us a year ago that Jake Tapper would be saying that he “aspires to be brat” live on CNN while analyzing Kamala Harris‘s presidential campaign strategy, it would be hard to believe.
Since President Biden officially withdrew his reelection campaign on Sunday afternoon, the internet quickly rallied behind Harris as the new democratic nominee in the best way they know how: memes. But the campaign itself was tickled slime green after Harris secured support from none other than Charli XCX, who has inspired the internet and beyond to have a “brat summer” since releasing her album “Brat” last month. Shortly after Biden gave his endorsement of Harris, the singer-songwriter made a declaration of her own: “Kamala IS brat,” she tweeted on X.

It took less than a day for the Harris campaign (or one Gen X pop-culture savvy intern…) to jump on the lime green bandwagon, switching out the header banner on the profile page of @kamalaHQ twitter page with an image that says “kamala hq” in black text on a green background — a nod to the simple yet effective cover art for Charli’s “Brat.” The Twitter page serves as Harris’s official rapid response page for the presidential campaign.

Unsurprisingly, it also took mere hours for merch-makers to create Kamala Harris “Brat”-inspired merch, with custom pieces now available on sites such as Etsy — from mugs and keychains to pins and t-shirts. If you plan on voting for Harris in the 2024 election, and are looking to show your support, look no further than the Kamala Harris “Brat” merch below:
