On Wednesday night, America’s Got Talent aired the results of the first Semifinals round of Season 16. Eleven acts performed during Tuesday’s show, but only five could move on to the Finals.

Host Terry Crews announced the results of the fan vote, which decided the first three acts to move on. Three acts were also up for the Instant Save Vote, and the judges were able to save one act.

Which ‘America’s Got Talent’ Acts Made It Through?

Tuesday night’s audience vote determined the first three acts to make it through to the Finals. Gina Brillon, Aidan Bryant, and Dustin Tavella went straight through thanks to America’s vote.

That means we had to say goodbye to Beyond Belief Dance Company, Tory Vagasy, Korean Soul, Madilyn Bailey, and Peter Rosalita. They received the least amount of votes from viewers.

Who Won the Instant Save Vote?

The acts who came in fourth, fifth, and sixth place in the overnight vote were eligible for the Instant Save. Jimmie Herrod, Michael Winslow, and World Taekwondo Demonstration Team were the three acts who were up for the vote.

The judges were shocked by these results, pointing out that two out of these three acts received the Golden Buzzer. It just goes to show that the judges and viewers aren’t always on the same page.

Voting was open during the show, and fans ultimately chose to send Jimmie Herrod through to the Finals. The judges then had to decide which of the remaining two acts should join him. They chose to send World Taekwondo Demonstration Team through, meaning Michael Winslow was eliminated.

Shin Lim Surprises Young Magician Shoji

America’s Got Talent decided to give young magician The Amazing Shoji a special surprise for his tenth birthday during tonight’s results show. Shoji competed on the show earlier this year, and he shared that he looks up to former AGT winner Shin Lim.

Since Lim was a guest performer on last week’s results show, he took the time to hang out with Shoji, telling him, “I’ve seen some of your videos, and you are amazing.” Shoji couldn’t believe he was actually talking to his idol, asking, “Are you real?”

Shoji also got to watch Lim rehearse for his performance on the show, and Lim surprised him with tickets to Universal Studios for his birthday. It was an adorable moment.
