American Idol is returning for Season 23 next year, and auditions are opening soon for singers to be considered for the new competition. Earlier this week, the show announced the schedule for live virtual auditions.

American Idol Virtual Auditions Start Soon

There are a few different ways to audition for American Idol Season 23. Hopefuls can go to the audition website now to submit a video audition or sign up for a live virtual audition with Idol Across America. The FAQ for auditions also reveals that fans will be able to share their auditions on social media.

If you’d like to sign up for a virtual audition, there are several options to choose from. The first auditions will be held on July 31, for the first 800 VIPs. There will also be a nationwide open call on August 23 and September 11, as well as regional open calls in September.

The show has also shared a schedule for auditions according to state. However, according to the FAQs, singers can sign up for any date — it doesn’t have to be the state where they live. Also make sure you meet the eligibility requirements, which include being at least 15 years old by February 15, 2025.

Who Won Season 22?

American Idol Season 22 finished up earlier this year, as singer Abi Carter was named the winner at age 21. Carter received a Platinum Ticket from the judges during the auditions. (This coveted ticket allows a contestant to skip the first round of Hollywood Week.)

Will Moseley finished the competition in second place, while Jack Blocker came in third place. This most recent season also marked Katy Perry’s last year sitting on the judging panel. She announced her departure shortly before the season premiered.

The show has yet to announce a replacement judge, although several names have been brought up — including Meghan Trainor, who has expressed interest in taking the job.
